Sparky

Sparky
by dan ankers

Sparks in the brain
evokes subtle gain
Provokes the train of this insane brigade

Will myself to remain
this homegrown blade
this product of first-world suffering and pain

Sparks on my mind
Foreclose father time
and necessitate the needing of my hasty retreating
back to a world
where my soul
is not bleeding

Where essence of self
is cinch-tied to infinity
and silences the clockwork, which exposes my divinity

And just in case
you don’t approve
of these messages I leave

Well I can see your soul too
Tis the reason I believe

That despite all this misery
and despite
all the hate

Humanity is destined for
a non-predestined fate

And while embracing these moments
this man embraced himself

and he saw in his vision
the first of many peaks to climb

And
He knew how to change
this world so
deranged

And
He knew how to change
this planet enflamed

Speak up, use your voice
use your hands
use your will

As the heart of the human
should never be tamed
In this valley of sameness
you mind is the blade
and
On this battlefield called life
the truth is your shield

Through this valley of death
where the wind steals your breath
raise your hand
It’s your right to reclaim it
Because in a moment of life
you are there, then are smoke
and on sand-dunes of death
remain nameless…

Therefore, it is better to have struggled
with your might
for these moments
as the world, your enslaver, vies to keep them
and worse still while alive
then, to know you have died
as your soul
and your mind
are held captive
