Heroes

Heroes
By dan ankers

Everybody’s searching for their perfect hero
But ain’t nobody lookin at no weirdo
But a hero is a weirdo, and not a zero
And if you need a hero
Then just look in the mirror
Cause you are one
(You are one)

Now everybody wanna watch the weirdo
As they walk
Cause they don’t read no scripts
Nor follow where the world looks, as it spins
(As it spins)
And there is always some uncertain math
To drawing back the curtain as
The sheer wild woman of the earth
Reveals her curves
(Her precious curves)

Fellow Zeros, Blessed Heroes and Dear Weirdos
We are one
And we unite
To praise the moon
And catch the sun,
(Catch the sun)

So
Shine your light and do it proudly
And speak exulting words, abounding
Make it clear now, that the hero Shan't be wasted

Why sit and wait for deeds tomorrow
or
Call on some hero’s arms to borrow
When you could open up and be the one who faced it
(Just face it)

Before I looked, but I never listened
Now I’ve awoken
And I simply glisten

With drops of sweat
Brought on by a great power
That I’ve tasted
(I can taste it now)

We are the earth
We are the life
And we are one
We must unite

And we must try with all our might
Or we are doomed

So, when I say, please be a hero
I really mean just be a person
But a person who does better than they ought

Cause when the zeros and the heroes and the weirdos all unite to fix this earth
And come together
All for one purpose
Things will be great

And it shall be a world of heroes
Everyone will we wear a cape
And why the hell not
We will all be sharing the same fate

And it shall be a world of heroes
Everyone will we wear a cape
And why the hell not
We will all be sharing the same fate

With Vengeance and Dungeons and Plungers

With Vengeance and Dungeons and Plungers
By dan ankers

The many thoughts I have and then erode
To further twinklings, near the end of night
When sun comes up and all the world’s transposed
A knowing wall of darkness
Gets distorted into light
My thoughts are mine, I surround myself with reason
And yet by day the waking world is naught
A place for those who value introspection
No, the world is a place for those already bought
I provide myself an armor formed from deeds
And I know that the caliber of thoughts which swim within my head
Are much better than the toys the sun provides
Though I alone do seem to heed this creed

Verily, I say “from whence do you seed?”
We accept all types, so carry on
I was only asking because it seemed inviting
The thing with civilization
is that it’s hard

We are all but brutes of women and men of the most vile sort and type
Deep down inside we carry visions and memories of everything we’ve done to evolve along the way, slaying each other with axes and mallets
And now with words and curses we display
The same exact type of behavior
That the caveman did inside, underneath the canopy
Of some extinct animal’s hide.
The point to all of this
Is the simple fact that
We are human
We attack
And so very clever can we be
And so diabolically tricky!
But we as apes may fool ourselves
And chase a nonsensical notion
With enough wealth, to the ends of the earth
As it seems, we’ve even created a nation

Beautiful You

Beautiful You
By dan ankers

In all the world there is said to be only one
You
AND I AM HAPPY YOU’RE ALIVE!
You are Pretty
Smart
And
Wonderful

You are a
Funny Person
Too

If I ever saw you in a dream
Or
One day in heaven we
You would be the exact same way there
As time upon the earth you spent

I love the only one, you
And you are simply magical!

Your mind is like a crystal ball
Your heart is like a magic hat
There is simply nothing that you’re little girl’s mind cannot focus to

And in my deepest self I pray that
You will keep this  way
Through all you do
