Giant Fish

Giant Fish
by dan ankers

I can feel it coming up
like a giant fish from the sea
It’s mouth is open wide
to swallow everything
but me

Its maw seems to only terrorize
the unsuspecting drones
But to everybody else
his presence seems
to make them feel
at home

The dance eclectic
epileptic form of meditation
For fans of epic
fits
of undirected thinking
with waves of exultation

I see spots across my vision
but I’m sure I’m doing fine
Just get a little out of hand
sometimes

Across the clouds
streaks a giant
discordant crow
He’s come to peck-out the eyes
of those who see just lies
Though he’ll leave everyone
else alone

I’m glad I’m just at home
and making the most of my
morning
Oblivious of the warning
The Klaxon/Call to action
I’m too immersed
in
simple Satisfaction
Zero retraction

The Lows

The Lows
by dan ankers

I know of no lower Low
Than the steps down which
I was thrown

And on the seminal stair, of which I am now standing
Which is at once wholly debilitating
and demanding

It also represents the essence of climb
and oh so much,  importantly
the beginning
of mine

Pretty Reckless

Pretty Reckless
by dan ankers

Stale city air and compromise
leave a wake behind your smile
You shoulder shrugs merely mystify
as the populace can testify
Pretty reckless
Trailing off in another direction
my intention

Our conversation lasts
for about an hour
All the while
you’re pretty dour

Marginalizing
the stale and the sour
Rectifying its existence
amid the grandeur
and the splendor
of
Power

That
which, being largely unknown
Is the very definition
Of
the point of the hour
Over which we now
scour

Or I should say
“back then”

Nearly Irredeemable

Nearly Irredeemable

Unrelenting Circumvention
Where is this,
my fifth dimension?

I circumvent
to ease the tension
Place inside
I hide
Don’t mention

Where you ask?
Is this recession
Do I locate
where flesh may
Stand?

Or am I apart,
for the most part,
in another land?

Never ask
to see credentials
Would you ask the elements?
Only walk where you may wander
Follow wayward
Filaments

Seek to seek
and find to lose
Ask to know
and know to choose
Choose to be
and be to ask
Seek to always
Ever last

And when the world falls down
upon your weary head
Escape the wreckage of those
Dubious Flames

Deep inside you
In your quiet fifth dimension
Where there can be no
Stupid names
