With Vengeance and Dungeons and Plungers

With Vengeance and Dungeons and Plungers
By dan ankers

The many thoughts I have and then erode
To further twinklings, near the end of night
When sun comes up and all the world’s transposed
A knowing wall of darkness
Gets distorted into light
My thoughts are mine, I surround myself with reason
And yet by day the waking world is naught
A place for those who value introspection
No, the world is a place for those already bought
I provide myself an armor formed from deeds
And I know that the caliber of thoughts which swim within my head
Are much better than the toys the sun provides
Though I alone do seem to heed this creed

Verily, I say “from whence do you seed?”
We accept all types, so carry on
I was only asking because it seemed inviting
The thing with civilization
is that it’s hard

We are all but brutes of women and men of the most vile sort and type
Deep down inside we carry visions and memories of everything we’ve done to evolve along the way, slaying each other with axes and mallets
And now with words and curses we display
The same exact type of behavior
That the caveman did inside, underneath the canopy
Of some extinct animal’s hide.
The point to all of this
Is the simple fact that
We are human
We attack
And so very clever can we be
And so diabolically tricky!
But we as apes may fool ourselves
And chase a nonsensical notion
With enough wealth, to the ends of the earth
As it seems, we’ve even created a nation
