We all know a person whose life has gone astray

not by their own fault, but by the will of “hey, who knows?”

That’s just the way it goes

One day you’re on the top, and one day you’re down below

But what you can do

And of this I am assured

within my heart and in my

mind

Is that you should help somebody who needs it, because you’ll never know

When it will be You who is asking, pleading

while still trying your hardest

Not asking for a handout

just desperately wanting

That sound, I’ve heard, is haunting

to need and not be helped

that silent, private yelp!

So aid someone who deserves it, today

and by your will

and love

make the world a better place

and

by action and by passion

fill this earth with gentle grace

because it’s never been by hoping

although that has always been a part

it has always been through action

that true good has been performed

so let’s get this movement moving

and let’s get these good things

started

This planet sure is needy

of the gentle and strong-hearted
