In a Marsh

In a Marsh
by dan ankers

The air has blown through here before
and it will stir this earth and these reeds
for thousands of years more
Circuitously, the wind is
puffing the hair on the back of my head
as it has often wended its ways past many
natural spreads
Those are the best of the bog
As the bullfrog sings
feeling high on the hog
He is the king
and
I can hear the crickets chirp
What a great symphony
This din to me
would only be
unbearable
if not for the
bullfrog's
magnificent work
adding to correct
to put some bass
against that chirp
