The Credit

He or she who knows
does often not disclose
their worldly knowledges
to those who would contend
and not for reasons shown
they often go unknown
though guide they often do
and know a thing or two
but kings and queens need credit
where humbler hearts decline
a place there in the spotlight
for it is not as kind
as to use a subtler message
to achieve the same results
while know-it-alls stir like buzzing bees
to capture every drop
of credit falling from the trees
and seek to drink it up
once collected in their golden chalices
whilst seated upon their gilded thrones
and poach it all for their greedy little selves
like avaricious, sneaky elves
