Stranger Words

Stranger Words
by dan ankers

By blissful fact and elemental fiction
A plethora of words does rise up, from time to time
Encased within pink folds of flesh, are my electric thoughts enmeshed
Into the slimy hardware of human kind

That, coupled with my innate senses
Existing there, beyond my fences
There's a world i carry with me now, and I keep it stored
Behind my furrowed lines

It's a place I need to visit, much more often than most would ever care to, or dare try

However, I can haul nothing back from this address, save for my increasingly pervasive sense
That, to this world
There is so much more than meets the eye.

So I nurture a still-growing sense of wonder
And a few dozen or so, unnaturally crippling fears
And this is alternately the greatest thing that's ever been known to me
And this is also the source
Of my greatest despair
